This week's pictures of bookshelves are from Lucy-Jane, a blog reader from France.
Both Lucy-Jane and I think that her bookshelves represent the concept of "organized chaos." I guess when you have kids, that's usually the case. Somehow, I know that Lucy-Jane knows where every book is. I detect a "system" in there somewhere.
just love seeing books in foreign languages. Even though my French comprehension is near zero level, I want to have books in French in my bookcases. And I can see a lot of fantasy books in Lucy-Jane's shelves.
What do you think of Lucy-Jane's bookshelves, dear reader?

I agree about the 'organized chaos.' It does look like there are some cool books in there but you have to really look.
Thanks for using my chaotic bookshelves in your project, Peter! You're right, there's a definite system, and I do know where every book is! There's a fair bit of fantasy (Terry Pratchett, James Long, etc.) but an awful lot of Anglo-Saxon literature (my speciality), Chaucer, language books, classics, Greek and Roman mythology, psychoanalysis, natural health, history... all in specific sections!
I like organised chaos. It is how I thrive. It seem weird looking at books in France and realising I have lots of the same ones.
This is such a great system.
I noticed that several books have their titles turned inward, which seems awkward when seaching. Nevertheless, I love seeing her chaos!
And I noticed, Peter, a copy of The Woman in White in the first photo.
Ah, but I know exactly which ones are turned inwards, Charlie - that's how I recognise them! ;-) My husband just doesn't get it...his bookshelF (note the singular) is painfully orderly...
@Mrs. B: Yes, a lot of cool books!
@Cynewyn: Thanks for sharing these! I love them.
@Vivienne: I thrive in organized chaos too, especially in the office. Hehe.
@Hagelrat: I know!
@Charlie: Oh, I didn't notice that! You have eagle eyes, Charlie.
@Cynewyn: I'd love to see your husband's bookshelf!
Love it! Looks like my first bookcase before I got compulsive & weird and decided to alphabetize them! *L*
Hi, Alexia! I have a similar bookcase (somewhat) to Lucy-Jane's.
mas magulo ng mga bookshelves kaysa evening SLEX exits. pero, gusto ko!
I love how everything's so disorganized. 3 years ago, this looks pretty much how my own sorry excuse for a bookshelf looked like.
Hahaha. I can totally relate to that.
