There's no such thing as . . .

. . . too many books!

Last night, it dawned on me. I just have a lot of books scattered around in my room. The above photo doesn't even do justice to the sheer number. My guess is that it just shows a fourth of what I have.

What I have is a happy mess. And what I need are more bookshelves. Like now. With the way things are, the bed in my room just seems an afterthought. It's no longer a bedroom.

You can try making a bed out of your books? :D

I Agree! There isn't. :)

I'm also on the hunt for new bookcases. My books all still fit, but each shelf is double layered and starting to bow. I'm not quite at your stage, but getting there. :)

Monique, that isn't too far from happening, with the way things are going.

Louize, woot!

Rob, such a happy problem, no?

Ram, :-) :-) :-)

If my mom dedicated one room to just her books, she will have to turn the garage into a library of sorts. She has about five or six bookcases full at our house alone and then about three small ones at our property by the water. I have told her when she dies I will donate her books to the local libraries here (well the ones that I don't want anyway...lol).

Hello, Tracie!

My goodness! I wanna live at that garage!

You live in a library! Your piles make me feel MUCH better. I've now got eight bookcases - bit of growth since I sent my pics... They cover two walls in one room. Enjoy!

Hello, Kaz! Oh, wow! Would love to see those new ones!

THIS is such a pretty sight! Bookshelves will surely make it prettier, though. *wink*

P.S. I am trying to decipher the titles in the photo and I saw Lee Child. Do you recommend his books?

Hello, Lynai!

Actually, I haven't read any of the Lee Child novels yet! Which reminds me -- have to bump them up!

There's some really creative ideas on Pinterest for how to display large collections of books. I am not a fan of the ones where you make arches and stuff that requires you to destroy your precious collection, but there are some more that are kind of cool.

I will check those out! Thanks, Becca!

I think it's interesting when people keep most of the books they read. I don't keep many, only a very small collection. I have had clear outs of my childhood books, which I've deeply regretted. But a lot of the adult (as in non-child!) books I've read, don't seem to be my favourites and to me don't warrant keeping. It's interesting to see how others display their books, and which they keep.

Oh, so true!
