Christmas gifts

Okay, so you can call me shallow, but one of the best things about this season is that I receive books as gifts! And for this year, I got books that I haven't even read yet! (Well, maybe I dropped a couple of hints here and there to friends and relatives. Hehehe.)

I'm especially looking forward to reading Maus and The Phantom Tollbooth, which I heard are very enjoyable books. So allow me to get back on my reading, but let me first wish you a joyous season and here's to more books in 2012!

Hey, Peter -
Looks like you got a pile of good reading there! I scored The Sellswords Trilogy, a spinoff from the Drizzt Do'Urden stories, so it looks like it will be a couple of months before I get to Mistborn, but it's definitely coming. I'll let you know what I think, too, either here, or with a major post on my own site, if they blow my socks off.
Best wishes for a Happy New Year. Stay safe, my friend!

Hi, Jack! Hmmmm... The Sellswords Trilogy sounds like a good read!

That's my expectation. Drizzt has two nemises (nemisises?), an assassin and a mercenary. They disappear for several years in the middle of his arc, and The Sellswords is the chronicle of what they were up to while we were following Drizzt. If you aren't familiar with the franchise, there is a lot of good info here:

Well, huge time difference where I am. I'm going to get some shut-eye. I'll check in tomorrow to see what's up.

You are among the handful of males (ahem!) that I know of who enjoy getting books at Xmas! Enjoy!
