The Bookshelf Project #21

This week's bookshelf picture is from Ruth, a reader from the UK. Her bookshelf is just so beautiful!

And I love the fact that Ruth also has other things besides books in these wonderful bookcases. The globes and the microscope at the top shelf definitely add a nice touch.

Her reading taste is varied as well. I can spot several biographies and works of fiction among the books. And she has a good collection of Penguins!

What do you think of Ruth's bookshelf, dear reader?

Cute! I love those shelves. I wish my other half would just give in and let books and cats take over the house.

Hi, Hagelrat! Hahaha. I wish that too. Although, I prefer dogs to cats.

Hi, Simon! The shelves are wonderful, aren't they? I'm envious as hell.

I love this feature on your blog Peter, but it often leaves me "green with envy". :)

What gorgeous book shelves. I like the idea of having them in the living room.

Yes, the other objects make the bookshelves look more lived in & real. Lovely!

I so need some built in book shelves. And I love this regular feature. Thanks.

@Diane: Me too!

@Vivienne: Yes. Bookshelves in the living room make for good conversation pieces.

@StephanieD: Of course, my favorite is the microscope.

@C.B. James: You're welcome.

this looks such a lovely cosy spot to curl up with a book ... and a pretty intellectual collection there too.
thanks for sharing

Hi, Martine! Yes, it is cozy, isn't it?

Darn it, Martine stole my comment. Oh, wait. She was here first.

I love a reading spot where I'm surrounded by books—even in the bookstore.

And thanks, Peter, for Mass on Sunday. You really touched me with that.

Hi, Charlie. I just hope that you feel better soon.

This is a really nice bookshelf and yeah I like the little additions of several stuff around the books. But I wouldn't do this on my own shelf. I'm much too careless I'd probably just knock them all down each time I browse through the shelves. :P

This is one of the nicest bookshelf pictures you have in your collection, Peter. The room seems light and airy so that the entire thing is just so attractive.

I love it! It makes me want to simply grab a book and read it.

How I wish I could make a similar book case in our house, but alas, space is really becoming hard to come by.

@Patrick, josbookshelf, and Jhay: It is one of the nicest!

Hi, Peter! I agree--the microscope is my favorite. Next to all the books, of course. Such a lovely, lovely shelf. Sigh.

Wow, thanks everyone for your wonderful comments on my bookshelves! It's made me see my jumble of books and random collection of stuff in a new light.

Oh wait maybe I should have said.. "I NEED!!" lol

Great idea! I don't suppose anyone but a booklover would understand our fascination with other people's books LOL.

I want! I want!

Wow, I wanted my books to be that organized. Feels good when your books feel good where they are staying too, you know.

Here's my share of shelves. Before they collapse. Haha!
