What the hell, I'll read it

I went to the bookstore during my lunch break today and, not to my surprise, found mountains of Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol on display. I believe that some bookstores even stayed open until 12 midnight last night to sell the books to fans.

I'm not even a fan of Dan Brown, but the books just seem to keep calling my name. Before I knew it, I'm holding a copy and paying for it at the register. I just felt hypnotized.

I guess I'll read it. Although, I think I could've saved money by just reading The Da Vinci Code and then replacing the characters' names and the settings with those in The Lost Symbol.

Hello, Sheila! I can't wait to read your review as well!

Dan Brown is so overrated. I don't think I'll ever read any of his books again.

You're right Peter. NBS and Fullybooked held midnight releases for this book last night. Why can't we have those events too for better deserving novels? :(

Hello, Patrick! I guess the bottom line is which books actually sell. Even though some of the books we read are very well-written and we feel that they're underrated, they don't sell as much as sensational novels.

The publishing industry can't afford to produce only these "better deserving" novels as you've put it because I think they'll go out of business.

Peter! I spent all of my August Salary (kasi once a month lang kami mag-sweldo) sa NBS (sale galore!)! Waaaah! And, after you texted me, I went to NBS to buy some stuff for the office. I ended up buying the book, too! Waaahh! I hope it's good, unlike the Digital Fortress. I guess I'll start reading tonight. Waaaahhhh reading backlog talaga!

Can't wait to read your book review. :)

Hmmm...that last paragraph didn't seem very positive. Well, I'll guess I'll just wait for you to write a review on it, then I'll see about reading it myself.

I have thought of getting The Da Vinci Code. I liked the movie and would like to read it, thinking the book would have to be better than the movie. I have thought of The Lost Symbol as well.

I am curious as to what you think, I'll be waiting for your review on this one.

Don't like Dan Brown either, but if the hype keeps up, I'll probably read it eventually.

Let me know what you think about it.:)

@Maan: Oh no! Anyway, let's meet up for coffee next week and talk about this book. I can't wait to hear what you think.

@Jo: I'll definitely write a review of this book. (I'm sharpening my knives as we speak.)

@FilBlogger: Thanks for dropping by! The review will be up next week.

@Melissa: I think many bloggers would be writing their reviews about this one.

@Honey: Sure! Let's talk about this book after you've read it.

Hee Hee. I love the picture you included! I've read the other two Robert Langdon books and liked them so I will prbably read this one too at some point. Not rushing out to buy it though.

Hi, Stacy! Thanks. I can't wait to read about what you think of the novel too.

Well I'm going on the record as liking both The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons. I could have done without Digital Fortress though. I plan on reading Lost Symbol eventually, I'm just not in a hurry to get to it. Hope you like it and look forward to your review.

Like everyone else, I'll be waiting for your review—and please don't put it on your massive TBR pile!

Hello, Ryan! I actually enjoyed Digital Fortress. Although, if you were to read that novel, you'd feel that it's very, very dated.

Hi, Charlie! I won't. I'm reading it now.

Hi Peter! It's true, if you've read one Dan Brown book, you've read them all. I still read all of the previous four, though. Still not sure whether I'm interested in the Lost Symbol, I have a reading backlog myself. I hope you enjoy it though :)

I actually was not planning to read this, but how can I not, everyone will be talking about it afterall :0

@June: Read it! You know you want to. LOL

@Jenny: That happened to me as well with the Harry Potter books. I reserved the 5th book, I think. And then I found out that it's all over the place.

@Diane: I'm sure you'll be reading this one eventually.

It's good to see a guy reviewing books...Any books you recommend that don't involve vampires, zombies, or secret codes?
