The Bookshelf Project #9

This week's bookshelf picture are from Steve Murray. (I'm actually breaking a rule here by mentioning his name.) Steve's the English translator for Stieg Larsson's Millennium series. Check out his blog here.

Thanks for the picture, Steve! And thanks for the wonderful English versions of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire. They're two of my favorite reads this year. I absolute love Lisbeth Salander!

Don't you just love his books? Even though I can hardly identify a book title, I know that his reading taste is varied. What do you think, dear reader?

Okay I am 120% jealous of his book shelves. I love them. That is what I want to do in my basement.

Thanks for sharing it.

This one is so great, yet informal. Very comfy looking space. Thanks for sharing.

I want that big a space for my books :-)

Hi, Cindy! I want those bookshelves too. I'm just green with envy.

Hello, Diane! Yes, the shelves are so darn great! They make my shelves look uninspired by comparison.

Hello, Dinah! Don't we all...

Makes me want to pick a book off the shelf and curl up in a chair and read. I would love to have those shelves!

He has made his books look really arty with all the little extras. I love it.

@Stacy: So do I. So do I.

@Viviene: I love those little extras too. They add a touch of the owner to the interiors.

There is something about those shelves that say "comfort" to me. I like how he modified the the bottom three sections beside the chair: slanted, so more books would fit.

This is a great and unique feature of your blog, Peter—thanks.

I love his bookshelves. I especially like how his shelves have counter-top about a fourth of the way up from the floor.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo has mixed reviews and I have held off on it. But since you enjoyed it, I might as well give it a go.

A real library! I do love the reading chair and ottoman, especially.

I love it! This is what I aim to do with our study room: a wall of books!

@Charlie: You're welcome, Charlie! I'm glad you like this series.

@Matt: I've heard about that book getting mixed reviews. Hehe. Michiko Kakutani somehow liked it though.

@Stepford Mum: I love those too!

@Patrick: That's what I'm aiming for -- a wall of books in every room.

Wow, when I saw those shelves, I said, (in a whispered tone) "Wow....I want that......" And my boyfriend chuckled. He loves how much I envy others and their book shelves. Since I have been following you and your blog and submitted my photos. I have actually added one bookshelf and have talked my boyfriend into building a floor to ceiling bookcase. :) Do you see what you have done to me? Shame! :)

Hi Tami! Hahaha. So sorry for that; didn't mean too!

I think you have a secret plot with the lumber company! :)

But that's OK, I don't mind, it's my bf who has to do all the work!

Tami

PS. Hope you are doing well!
